    Overview

    Mapped Out is a conceptual tour guide designed to showcase San Francisco through a curated and narrative-driven lens. Rather than functioning as an exhaustive resource, this booklet highlights select landmarks, restaurants, and cultural spots—focusing on storytelling and experience over utility. The goal was to reimagine the city guide as something visually engaging and easy to navigate, with an emphasis on clarity, balance, and inviting design.


    Design Approach

  1. Developed a flexible grid system to organize text, photography, and headings with clear visual hierarchy
  2. Used bold typography and strategic color choices to maintain rhythm and draw attention to key points
  3. Focused on simple layouts that allow narrative content to shine without feeling cluttered
  4. Applied thoughtful spacing, photo placement, and color grading to create a cohesive flow between pages
  5. Prioritized readability and audience engagement while bringing energy and personality to the design
