Overview
This project involved designing outreach materials for Forever Families Through Adoption (FFTA), focusing on both their long-standing adoption services and the launch of their new Foster 2 Forever (F2F) program. The work included redesigning the agency’s main adoption brochure and flyer, creating a new brochure and flyer for the foster program, and proposing a modernized visual identity system through a rebrand mockup.
Concept
FFTA’s marketing materials had remained largely unchanged since 2007. The objective was to introduce a brighter, more inviting design language that reflects the compassion and hope central to their mission while improving accessibility and communication for prospective families.
For the Foster 2 Forever (F2F) program—a new initiative focused on foster children already freed for adoption—I developed a separate yet cohesive identity system. This included a trifold brochure and informational flyer designed to support outreach, education, and virtual info sessions. The F2F designs maintain alignment with FFTA’s core brand while introducing soft patterns, rounded shapes, and a playful yet professional color palette to reflect approachability, care, and optimism.
The materials emphasize clarity, hierarchy, and warmth—balancing sensitive subject matter with an engaging, hopeful visual tone. The color choices, clean typography, and thoughtful use of space allow the messaging to remain both informative and emotionally resonant.
Design Approach
• Redesigned FFTA’s official adoption brochure and informational flyer with a refreshed color palette, clear grid structure, and approachable typography
• Created a visual identity system for the Foster 2 Forever (F2F) program, including a brochure, flyer, and info session materials
• Developed supporting assets like QR codes, bilingual messaging, and visual elements that promote accessibility and interactivity
• Proposed a rebrand mockup concept, imagining how FFTA could evolve their visual identity while maintaining the integrity of their logo and mission
• Integrated rounded geometric shapes and circle motifs to symbolize community, continuity, and support systems—key themes in adoption and foster care
Outcome
This project helped FFTA modernize their outreach materials to better connect with today’s families while staying true to their mission of advocacy, support, and education. The Foster 2 Forever program designs clearly communicate the steps and resources available for foster-to-adopt families, while the rebrand mockup offers a glimpse at how the organization could move toward a unified and contemporary brand identity. Through print and layout design, this project demonstrates how thoughtful visual systems can support complex, emotional topics in a respectful and engaging way.
