For this project, I developed a candle brand inspired by the charm of vintage matchboxes, continuing my exploration of design through a custom typeface I created called 'Palos.' The goal was to reimagine the vibrant colors and rich textures of vintage matchboxes and translate them into a modern, minimalist aesthetic. Choosing candles as the central product allowed me to take something simple and familiar, and create a unique visual identity around it. From mockups of matchboxes to packaging designs, this project blends nostalgia with contemporary design, using 'Palos' as a cohesive element to enhance the brand’s personality. Each component reflects a balance of everyday simplicity and a artistic touch.
Visual Identity:
For Paloma, I created a cohesive visual identity that blends nostalgia with modern minimalism. Using a custom typeface, “Palos”, I designed packaging and promotional materials that evoke the vibrant colors and rich textures of old matchboxes, while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. The swirling, abstract patterns on each candle’s packaging visually represent the scents, such as "Lemon Bliss" and "Lavender Dreams," balancing artistic flair with clean, minimalist layouts. This project demonstrates how a simple product like a candle can be elevated through thoughtful design, uniting everyday simplicity with a nostalgic yet fresh visual identity.
Branding:
